Firelit Meeting of Hearts and Minds
Join us in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia on September 5-7th 2008 for a weekend dedicated to the practice of sustainability
BASIC INFORMATION
EarthCamp...an indoor/outdoor weekend intensive practicing sustainability one day at a time. It will be held on September 5-7th at Claymont Society for Continuous Education's Great Barn Campsite outside of Charles Town, WV. The event will also feature a drop-in local Sustainability Expo on Saturday September 6th from 10am - 12noon that will be free to the public and requires no pre-registration.
The weekend features
Come prepared to experience the outdoors and a diverse community of people. Alcohol and illegal behavior and substances will not be permitted to make this event safe for all. We welcome your conscious and creative presence!
The weekend features
- support for environmental stewardship in West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle
- workshops on how to integrate sustainability into your daily life
- Saturday Sustainability Expo featuring a seed swap, a "green" bookstore, and local environmental resources
- harvesting, preparing, and cooking nutritious and delicious meals from the garden
- music inspired by nature
- EcoArt
- home scale permaculture demonstrations
- activities for kids and people all ages such as a trash to treasure class, nature's orchestra, and earth poem or skit making
- morning meditation and yoga for centering
- straw bale and bamboo shelter construction

10:00-12noon Sustainability Expo with Nature's Orchestra Workshop, Chair Massage, Books, Local Sustainable Goods - Free & Open the Public (spaces still open!)
12:30pm Lunch
1:30-4pm Rain Barrel Workshop with Neil Super of Earth Choice Products Kids Clay, Mud Mural, Solar Oven Making, & Other Events
4:30-6pm Edible plant walk, Garden Harvest, & Natures Orchestra Preparation
6:30pm Local Foods Dinner
7:30pm Nature's Orchestra, Singing, Dancing, Jamming & Live Music

Registration options
1 - Full weekend for $35 fee - Must pre-register by August 31
2 -Full weekend for $15 plus a food contribution equivalent to $20 (list of food needs to be posted soon) - Must preregister by August 31st
3- Register the day of for $40 fee
4-Register for Rain Barrel Workshop - participants to this workshop wanting a barrel for $80 per person must contact us or Earth Choice Products by August 31st. For more info and to register for the Workshop see www.earthchoicerainbarrels.com or call 304.279.0506
Kids under 12 attend EarthCamp WV for free!
Sustainability Expo on Saturday from 10-12noon is free and open to the public.
All proceeds support the event and workshop materials.
